What may get more expensive next year: from cars to phones

In a report published by navigator.az, economic expert Khalid Karimli spoke about the price increases expected in 2026. According to him, price rises look unavoidable across a number of goods and service categories.
What may get more expensive
According to the expert's explanation, starting next year the tax exemptions applied to electric and hybrid vehicles will be abolished. As Khalid Karimli noted, this will lead to price increases in both the new and used car markets.
Changes are also expected in the phone market — according to the expert, starting next year, mobile phone prices may rise by at least 20 manats. Alcoholic beverages are also among the goods expected to become more expensive due to higher excise rates.
Khalid Karimli also recalled that the government forecasts inflation at 5.3% for 2026. For comparison, this year's inflation level stood at 5.7%. In the expert's view, this suggests that the pace of price growth next year will remain roughly at a similar level. He further noted a high likelihood of increased water tariffs and emphasized that the rising-price trend will continue across almost all goods and services.
What Prayk shows
Amid the price discussion, it is useful to look at the current state of the market through catalog figures. Today, Prayk's "Cars" section lists 39,454 listings, with a median asking price of 13,800 AZN. The number of spare parts and accessories listings stands at 29,596 — given the news about the abolition of tax exemptions, activity in this section rising would not be surprising.
The overall platform picture is also visible: currently there are 780,392 published listings, 7,357 stores, and 27,195 registered users. The "Products" section holds 299,962 listings, which also includes phones and other electronics.
What this means for buyers and sellers
For those planning to buy an electric or hybrid vehicle, timing matters — if the removal of the tax exemption directly affects price, it makes sense to speed up the decision. To do that, it helps to first see the market's real price range.
- Track the current state of the car market in the Cars section.
- To plan spare-parts spending, check the Spare Parts section.
- If considering a phone purchase, compare current prices in the Smartphones section before the expected price rise.
- To follow overall price dynamics, the Prices section is useful.
Sellers, meanwhile, should list at an up-to-date market price and be ready for rising demand.
