House cleaning services in Baku: types, prices and what to check

House cleaning in Baku is priced by the square metre, by the hour or by the job, so figures in listings range from 1 to 150 AZN. As of 27 September 2026, Prayk's Cleaning section has 250 listings, 71% of them in Baku. According to the listings, basic cleaning costs about 1 AZN per m², carpet washing 1.8–2.5 AZN per m², and four hours of cleaning with one worker 50–55 AZN.
Short answer: there is no single price for cleaning — the same "10 AZN" can mean an hour or the whole job. On 27 September 2026, 23% of 250 listings showed 5 AZN or less (usually per m²) and 32% showed 21–50 AZN (usually an hourly package). Examples from listings: basic cleaning about 1 AZN per m², post-renovation cleaning 2–4 AZN per m², a 4-hour package with one worker 50–55 AZN, an 8-hour package with two workers 95–150 AZN. Agree the final amount in writing before you book.
What types of house cleaning are there?
- Regular cleaning: dust, floors, kitchen surfaces, bathroom. Usually booked by the hour or as a package.
- Deep cleaning: inside cupboards, windows, inside the oven and fridge, tile grout. Often priced per square metre.
- Post-renovation cleaning: construction dust, paint and mortar stains, window and door frames. The most expensive type, since it takes longer and needs special products.
- Carpets and upholstery: carpets are usually taken to a workshop; sofas and mattresses are cleaned on site.
- Windows and facades: on high-rises, done by rope-access workers.
- Disinfection and pest control: against insects and rodents; 8 separate listings in the section.
Judging by listing texts, of 250 listings 103 mention offices, 65 sofas or furniture, 43 regular cleaning, 42 carpets, 39 windows and 20 post-renovation cleaning — many companies offer several services at once.
How is the price set and how much does it cost?
A median is misleading for cleaning: in one listing "1 AZN" is the price per square metre, in another "50 AZN" is the price for four hours. So below we give the price bands found in listings and concrete examples by pricing unit.
| Price shown in listing | Listings | Share | Usually the price of |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 AZN or less | 58 | 23% | 1 m² of cleaning or carpet washing |
| 6–20 AZN | 72 | 29% | 1 hour, a small job or a token "starting" price |
| 21–50 AZN | 79 | 32% | an hourly package, cleaning a small flat |
| 51–300 AZN | 22 | 9% | a large package, post-renovation, a villa |
| over 300 AZN | 19 | 8% | often not a service but a job ad with a monthly salary |
| All | 250 | 100% | — |
Examples taken from listing texts (27 September 2026):
- Per square metre: basic cleaning 1 AZN/m²; steam cleaning 1.90 AZN/m², window washing 3 AZN/m²; after-construction cleaning 2–4 AZN/m².
- Post-renovation, fixed price by area: one listing quotes 40 m² — 160 AZN, 80 m² — 235 AZN, 100 m² — 260 AZN, 200 m² — 465 AZN.
- Hourly packages: 3–4 hours — 50 AZN (one worker); 4 hours — 55 AZN, 6 hours — 65 AZN (one worker), 8 hours — 95 AZN (two workers, with a steam cleaner); another listing with two workers: 4 hours — 60 AZN, 8 hours — 100 AZN; a 5-hour package — 45 AZN with one cleaner, 80 AZN with two.
- Carpet washing: 1.80–2.50 AZN/m², with pick-up and delivery included in some listings.
- Small flat: one listing charges 50 AZN to clean a 50–60 m² apartment.
The main price factors are area and how dirty the place is, the number of workers, whose cleaning products are used (80 listings mention products or equipment), floor and lift access, the number of windows, urgency and an out-of-town address. Only 27 of 250 listings say outright that the price is negotiable; in practice, the figure in many others is just a starting point.
What should you check in a cleaning listing?
- The pricing unit. What does "10 AZN" mean: 1 m², 1 hour or the whole job? Ask in writing and have the total calculated in advance.
- What is included. Windows, inside cupboards, the oven, the fridge and the balcony may cost extra. Agree the list.
- Whose products. If the company brings its own, ask whether they suit special surfaces (marble, parquet, leather sofas).
- Number of workers and time. In an hourly package, the number of workers changes both price and result.
- Real photos and track record. Check whether "before and after" photos are genuine and how long the provider has been working.
- Pay after the job. Be wary of full prepayment; you can look up the number on the Check a phone number page to see how long it has been known and whether there are complaints.
- Valuables. If strangers will be in your home, put documents and valuables away beforehand and walk through the flat together at the end.
Carpet washing and post-renovation cleaning: what to watch
Carpets: the price is usually per square metre — ask for the carpet to be measured in front of you before washing. Check whether pick-up and delivery are included, how long drying takes, and whether there is a separate process for handmade (silk or wool) carpets.
After renovation: if the job has a fixed price by area, check whether removing the builders' debris is included. If you are planning a renovation budget, give cleaning its own line — the stages are covered in our renovation budget guide.
How do you find cleaning services on Prayk?
All listings are in the Cleaning section; for carpets see Carpet cleaning, and for sofas and mattresses Upholstered furniture cleaning. Other tradespeople are in Masters. If you want a permanent housekeeper, that is a job rather than a service — see Domestic staff and cleaning vacancies. If nothing fits, post a "Looking for" listing with what you need, the address and the area, and let providers contact you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does house cleaning cost in Baku?
It depends on how it is priced. On 27 September 2026, Prayk listings showed basic cleaning at about 1 AZN per m², 3–4 hours with one worker at 50–55 AZN, and an 8-hour package with two workers at 95–150 AZN. For example, basic cleaning of a 60 m² flat priced by area comes to roughly 60 AZN.
Why is post-renovation cleaning more expensive?
Construction dust and paint and mortar residue take several times longer than ordinary cleaning and need special products. Listings price it at 2–4 AZN per m² or at a fixed price by area (for example, 80 m² — 235 AZN).
How much does carpet washing cost?

Is a 1 AZN price in a listing real?
Usually it is the price per m² or a token figure meant to push the listing up in the catalog. Ask for a written total based on the address, area and list of tasks.
Sources and methodology
Listings come from Prayk's open catalog API on 27 September 2026: the Masters → Cleaning section with its subsections (general cleaning, carpets, upholstery, disinfection), 250 listings nationwide, 178 of them in Baku, all priced in AZN. Because cleaning listings use different pricing units (per m², per hour, per job), we give price bands and concrete examples from listing texts instead of a median; the examples come from individual listings and should be read as a guide, not as a market average. Shares of service types and of the word "negotiable" were counted by keyword search in listing texts and are therefore approximate. The section also contains a few job ads, which fall into the band above 300 AZN. These are asking prices, not amounts actually paid.
