Military salaries and pensions to rise: bill to be discussed in Milli Majlis
According to navigator.az, citing Olke.az, Azerbaijan is preparing legislative amendments to raise salaries and pensions for military personnel. The bill has already reached the Milli Majlis and will be discussed at a session of the Committee on Defence, Security and Anti-Corruption on September 25. The stated goal of the changes is to improve the social conditions of servicemen.

Military expert Adalat Verdiyev said that the salary and pension system for personnel of the Azerbaijani Army is being aligned with advanced international models. According to him, under the new reform package the pay system will become unified in structure, with salaries calculated based on the location, nature, conditions and difficulty of service.
Per the expert's information, salaries for Ministry of Defence personnel will rise on average by around 25% or more. The base position salary will be replaced by a rank-based salary, whose share in total pay will increase to 70%. In addition, the pension mechanism will be improved and fully digitised. Verdiyev emphasized: "Strong social security is the right of our victorious Army!"
