Annual inflation at 5.8%: what rose most, and where the second-hand market fits in

In June 2026 Azerbaijan's consumer price index rose 5.8% year on year. The figure comes from the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Review and was published by navigator.az on 14 August 2026. Core inflation, calculated excluding state-regulated and seasonal items, stood at 5.5%.
What rose and by how much
- Food, alcohol and tobacco — 7.1% year on year; food contributed 3.1 percentage points to overall inflation.
- Milk and dairy — 9.5%, fruit — 10.7%.
- Non-food goods — 3.8%; the sharpest rise in this group was in jewellery, up 21.7% over the year.
Why the second-hand market matters
When new goods get dearer, the simplest way to protect a budget is a used item that does the same job for less. Prayk's Goods section held 169,957 published listings on 12 September 2026 — from furniture and appliances to electronics and children's items. Used items and shops' new stock appear in the same list, so the «new versus used» gap is visible on one screen.
How to sanity-check a price
- The «Bargain» badge automatically flags offers priced at least 10% below the median of similar ones; we explained the calculation here.
- Market prices show the real asking range by category, and the calculator works out the range for a specific item.
- Saved search — save the item together with your budget and get notified when a listing appears at that price.
