Where do Prayk listings come from? Official catalogs, sources and filters

When a site shows tens of thousands of listings, the first question is fair enough: where did they all come from? We see no reason to hide the answer — here is where Prayk listings come from, what checks they pass before publication, and what never gets published at all.

Two streams: user listings and catalogs

Part of the 244,000+ listings on the site are posted by people themselves — free, commission-free, in about a minute. The rest come from our aggregation layer: official catalogs of the companies selling the goods, plus listings already published openly on Azerbaijan's specialised platforms, brought together so a buyer doesn't have to search ten different sites for the same item. Hotel price comparison sites and product search engines work on exactly the same logic.

Sources are not picked at random. The rule is simple: either it is the seller company's own official catalog, or a specialised platform that has been a known name in its niche for years. We do not pull listings from anonymous sites of unclear origin.

1. Official retailer catalogs

The most reliable source is the company selling the goods. The catalogs of the country's large electronics chains open on Prayk as dedicated store pages and are reconciled daily against the retailer's own catalog — when the price changes there, it changes here:

• Kontakt Home — over 27,000 products
• Baku Electronics — over 11,800 products
• İrşad — over 4,700 products
• Soliton — over 2,900 products
• World Telecom — over 540 products

Prices in these listings are not "negotiable" — they are the retailer's official catalog price, and the goods come with an official warranty. That is exactly why they serve as a solid baseline in the market prices section: you see the second-hand price of a phone right next to the official retail price.

2. Specialised sources per section

Every section has its own sources — close to thirty in total. Among them:

• Jobs. The Jobs section collects open vacancies from recruitment platforms such as Boss.az, JobSearch.az, SmartJob.az, Vakansiya.az and Glorri — a job seeker sees postings from several portals on a single page.
• Vehicles. The Cars section receives listings from auto portals such as Auto.az and Masin.az, while spare parts come from dedicated parts sites.
• Real estate. The property section is fed by several specialist portals — Ipoteka.az listings, for instance, arrive with geographic coordinates, so they show up as an exact pin on the map.
• Services and tenders. Tradesman and service listings from Xidmet.az go into the Services section, and open tenders from TenderYard into business offers.
• Goods. The Goods section is built both from user listings and from general boards such as Birja.com.

Retailer catalogs are checked once a day, listing platforms every 3–10 minutes: a new listing at the source reaches Prayk search within minutes.

3. Not everything collected gets published

This is where source reliability actually lives: reading from a source is one thing, showing it on the site is another. To date, over 115,000 listings have been read from sources, and more than 16,400 of them were never published — roughly one in every seven is stopped by a filter:

• Duplicates — over 12,300 listings. The same item is often posted on several sites at once. Using image fingerprints, text similarity and visual likeness, an identical listing is shown only once; in borderline cases artificial intelligence makes the final call.
• No price — over 2,500 listings. "Ask for the price" entries ruin search and waste the buyer's time.
• No contact number — over 1,400 listings. If you can't call, it isn't a listing.
• No photos, broken structure. Entries whose images failed to load or whose structure is broken are not published.

A listing that passes the filters is processed further: the category is assigned automatically, make, model, room count and floor area are extracted from the text, and the price is compared against the market median of similar listings — anything at least 10% below the market earns the green "Good deal" badge. Listings that expire or disappear from the source are archived automatically.

4. What if the listing is yours?

There is a real seller behind every collected listing, and we make no claim to it. Each such listing page carries a "Is this your listing?" block: enter the one-time code sent to the number shown in the listing, and every listing tied to that number — plus the auto-created store page, if there is one — moves to your account. From there, changing the price, promoting or deleting the listing is entirely up to you. Your number is never displayed in full on the site, only masked.

If you would rather your listing were not on Prayk at all, use the report button on the listing page: the listing is removed and listings tied to that number are no longer collected. The same rule applies to requests from the source sites themselves.

Why we do it this way

The reason is simple: a buyer needs the whole market in one place. Instead of walking through several sites and comparing prices on paper, you get market prices, the map and the "Good deal" badge on one page. For a seller it means extra reach — free of charge.
