The Animals section has been rebuilt: its own header, a simple search and only filters that work

In September we rebuilt every root section of Prayk: each one now opens like a dedicated, specialised site. This post is about the Animals section, which holds more than 11 thousand active listings today.

1. The section's own identity

At the top of the page sits the section panel: a dark rose background, the name, the number of active listings and the trail inside the section. The content background carries the softest tone of the same colour, so the section is recognisable at a glance. The panel is compact — the first row of listings stays on screen when the page opens.

2. Category chips

The chips under the panel show the current level: subcategories at the root (pets, birds, farm animals, aquarium and others), an "up" link plus children inside a subcategory. With more than eight of them the order follows listing counts, and "Other" stays at the end. This is the shortest way to move around inside the section without unfolding the tree menu.

3. A three-key search panel

The panel is simple: keyword, city and price. The "More" button opens the current category's own fields — breed, age, sex and other attributes arrive depending on the category. The number of matching listings is shown above the button.

4. Only working filters remain

This section used to carry all the toggles of the product sections: "Credit", "Discount", "New / Used", "Good deals". None of them is filled in on animal listings — picking one emptied the result. They are all gone. The single remaining toggle is "Delivery": listings for birds, fish, feed and accessories really do mark that attribute.

The rule is the same across the site: a filter stays on screen only where it returns results. A filter that does nothing makes the site itself feel broken — so we do not keep such keys.

5. The header and search stay inside the section

On a computer the top row turns into the section's menu: the badge and name next to the logo, the section's categories in the second row. The search box at the top searches inside the section; a section chip appears on the results page, and the cross widens the search to the whole site.

6. The mobile app works the same way

The section header, the search card and the colour were ported to the app.

What has not changed

The address is the same: /animals and every subcategory. Saved links and favourites keep working.

To post a listing: the new listing form. What changed in the other sections: Products and Services.
