Choosing a baby stroller: pram, pushchair, 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 — prices

Choose a stroller according to your baby's age, the pavements where you live and where you will keep it: a newborn needs a carrycot to lie flat in, while from about six months a light pushchair is more practical. As of 27 September 2026, Prayk's "Strollers" section holds 2,444 listings; the median price of recent listings is 80 AZN, strollers with a carrycot are offered at around 140 AZN and high-end brands at about 550 AZN. Below you will find the types, a price table, the technical details that matter and how to check a used stroller.
Short answer: as of 27 September 2026, baby stroller listings on Prayk have a median price of 80 AZN (half between 60 and 120 AZN). Strollers with a carrycot have a median of 140 AZN, light pushchairs 100 AZN and high-end brands 550 AZN. From birth, choose a 2-in-1 (carrycot + seat) or a 3-in-1 with an infant car seat; for the next stage, a light pushchair.
What types of stroller are there?
| Type | What is included | Age | Pros and cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pram (carrycot) | chassis + lie-flat carrycot | from birth to about 6 months | baby lies flat; heavy and bulky |
| Pushchair | chassis + seat | usually once the baby can sit unaided (about 6 months) | light and compact; may not suit a newborn |
| 2-in-1 | chassis + carrycot + seat | from birth to 3 years | one chassis lasts a long time; expensive and heavy |
| 3-in-1 | 2-in-1 + infant car seat | from birth; car seat for the first months | handy for families with a car; the most expensive option |
| Umbrella stroller | light frame and seat | children older than about 1 year | very light, good for travel; weak suspension |
Age limits are approximate — the manufacturer's manual states from what age and up to what weight each seat is designed for. Some pushchairs recline fully and are approved by the manufacturer for use from birth; check the manual.
How much do strollers cost on Prayk?
The table is based on the 300 most recent listings in the "Strollers" section; baby walkers, car seats, covers, bags, spare parts, rentals and "wanted" posts were excluded (255 listings remained). The median is the middle price: half of the listings are cheaper, half are more expensive. "Middle half" is the range of the middle 50%.
| Segment | Listings measured | Median, AZN | Middle half, AZN |
|---|---|---|---|
| All strollers | 255 | 80 | 60–120 |
| With a carrycot or marked "for newborns" | 36 | 140 | 90–346 |
| Pushchair, light or compact | 68 | 100 | 64–220 |
| Mentioning high-end brands | 18 | 550 | 345–846 |
| 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 (stated explicitly) | 9 | — (sample too small) | — |
| Twin strollers | 7 | — (sample too small) | — |
The "high-end" row includes listings whose title or description mentions Cybex, Bugaboo, Stokke, Joolz, UPPAbaby, Babyzen, Anex, Peg Perego, Inglesina, Thule or Silver Cross. The low overall median (80 AZN) shows that the section is dominated by simple pushchairs and used strollers. Most listings do not say explicitly whether a stroller is a 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 — ask the seller what the set includes.
What technical details matter?
- Weight and folding. If you will carry the stroller up stairs or live in a building without a lift, weight is decisive. A one-hand fold is very handy when you are holding the baby. Compare the folded size with your car boot.
- Wheels. Large rubber or air-filled wheels cope well with uneven pavements and sand; small plastic wheels are only for smooth roads and shopping centres. Front wheels that swivel and lock also matter.
- Suspension. Springs or shock absorbers protect the baby from jolts — especially in carrycot mode.
- Brake and harness. The foot brake should hold the stroller securely on a slope; the seat unit should have a five-point harness.
- Handle and seat. The handle height should adjust to the parents' height; it helps if the seat can face both you and the direction of travel.
- Hood, basket, rain cover. A large sun hood, an under-seat basket and a rain cover make daily life easier. Removable, washable fabric is important.
- Standard. Strollers sold in Europe are tested to the EN 1888 standard; look for it on the label or in the manual.
What should you know about the car seat?
The infant car seat in a 3-in-1 set is for carrying the baby in a car. Under UN Regulation No. 129 ("i-Size"), children from birth to 15 months must travel in a rearward-facing seat. The car seat should carry an ECE R44 or R129 approval label. Only buy a used car seat if you are sure it has not been in an accident: after an impact, invisible cracks may remain in the plastic shell. Standalone car seats are in the Car seats section.
How to check a used stroller
- Frame. There should be no cracks, bends, welding or glue marks. Unfold and fold the stroller: the locks should click shut and not open by themselves.
- Brake. Put the stroller on a slope and apply the brake — it should not move.
- Wheels. There should be no play, squeaking, wobbling or worn tread; check that air-filled tyres hold pressure.
- Harness and buckles. All buckles of the five-point harness should fasten and release easily.
- Fabric and hygiene. No stains, mould or smell; replacing the carrycot mattress with a new one makes sense hygienically.
- Contents. Carrycot, seat unit, car seat adapters, rain cover, mosquito net, bag — whatever the listing mentions should all be there.
- Model and manual. Find out the model name: the manual and weight limits can be found on the manufacturer's website.

How to find a stroller on Prayk
All listings are in the Strollers section; strollers and car seats together are in Strollers and car seats, and baby carriers in Baby carriers. To compare a specific listing with similar ones, open the Check a listing report on the listing page, and look for reduced prices on the Price drops page. If you are after a particular model, save your search; when your child outgrows the stroller, you can sell it in the same section.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a baby stroller cost?
As of 27 September 2026, the median price of the 255 stroller listings we measured on Prayk is 80 AZN, with half between 60 and 120 AZN. Strollers with a carrycot have a median of 140 AZN and high-end brands 550 AZN.
What stroller does a newborn need?
One in which the baby can lie flat: a pram with a carrycot, a 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 set, or a pushchair with a fully reclining seat that the manufacturer approves for use from birth.
2-in-1 or 3-in-1?
If you drive often, a 3-in-1 is convenient: you can move the car seat onto the chassis without waking the baby. Without a car, a 2-in-1 is enough. Few Prayk listings state the type explicitly, so confirm the set with the seller.
When can a baby move to a pushchair?
Usually once the child can sit unaided — at about 6 months. Exact age and weight limits are given in each model's manual.
Is it OK to buy a used car seat?
Only if you are sure it has not been in an accident and it carries an ECE R44 or R129 approval label. After an impact, hidden damage may remain in the shell, so it is safer to avoid a seat with an unknown history.
Sources and methodology
The figures come from Prayk's public catalogue API on 27 September 2026: the 300 most recent listings in "Goods → Everything for kids → Products for newborns → Strollers and car seats → Strollers" (published 22–27 September 2026). Baby walkers, car seats, covers, bags, spare parts, rentals and "wanted" posts, as well as listings under 15 AZN, were excluded, leaving 255 listings. Segments were identified by keywords in the title and description (carrycot, newborn, pushchair, light, compact, 2-in-1, 3-in-1, twin, brand names), so the split is approximate. Medians and 25th–75th percentiles were calculated only from listings priced in AZN; we do not publish a median for segments with fewer than 15 listings. The section holds 2,444 listings in total (27 September 2026). Prices are sellers' asking prices.
