Price drops feed in October: 4,640 drops in 7 days, median 13% — how to read the numbers

The Price drops feed collects published listings where the seller has lowered the price. This article is a snapshot of the feed as of 6 October 2026: how many listings it holds, how the drops are spread across sections, what a typical drop looks like and how to check whether the "−N%" badge on a card reflects a real discount. It is for buyers who open the feed every day and for anyone tracking price movement in their section.
Snapshot as of 6 October: what is in the feed
On the morning of 6 October the feed held 4,640 listings whose price had dropped within 7 days, and about 850 within 24 hours. The numbers follow the feed's own rules (explained in the launch article): a drop must be at least 5% and at least 5 AZN, changes above 60% (usually a typo) are left out, only the latest price change of each listing counts, and the list refreshes every 10 minutes.
Weekly drops by section:
- Goods — 3,023 listings (roughly two thirds of the feed);
- Cars — 624;
- Real estate — 510;
- Smartphones — 355;
- Animals — 99; the remaining sections add up to a few dozen.
The typical drop is modest: in the 7-day feed the median is 13% and the mean 16.5%. A third of the drops fall in the 5–9% range and another third in 10–19%; 1,383 listings dropped by more than 20%, and 651 by more than 30%. Choosing 20% in the "Minimum drop" filter narrows the feed to exactly those 1,383 listings — the most practical cut for a daily look.
Which sections have the biggest drops
In percentage terms the boldest drops are in inexpensive goods: the median drop is 15% in Goods and 17% in Animals — in both sections more than half of the listings cost under 200 AZN, so a 20 AZN discount already exceeds 10%. In Cars and Real estate the median is only 9%, in Smartphones 10% — but the amounts differ: the typical (median) drop is 500 AZN for a car, 40 AZN for a smartphone and 20 AZN for goods.
Share of drops above 20% within each section: Animals 43%, Goods 37%, Smartphones 20%, Cars 15%, Real estate 10%. So when looking for a car or a flat, a 10% filter is more realistic; in goods, 20–30% still leaves plenty of choice.
Examples from the 6 October snapshot: a 2008 Kia Ceed SW from 20,240 to 12,500 AZN (−38%), an iPhone 16 Pro 128 GB from 1,400 to 980 AZN (−30%), a 90 m² flat in an older building from 610,000 to 420,000 AZN (−31%).
Is the drop real? Four checks
The old price on the card is the seller's previous price, not the market's. If the price was first set above the market and then "reduced", a −30% badge means nothing. Before buying, look at four things:
- Price history. The listing page shows the price line since publication: if the price was raised first and lowered later, you will see it there. The feed shows only the latest change.
- Market comparison. The market badge on the listing page (below market / average / above market) compares the price with the median of similar listings in the same section. Even after a drop the price may still sit above the market.
- The "Check a listing" report. Paste the listing link into the "Check a listing" box on the home page (or tap the score badge on the listing page) — market difference, price history, seller signals and duplicate copies are gathered in one report; how it works.
- The "Below market" page. Unlike the feed, this page collects listings priced at least 10% below the market median — whether or not the seller lowered the price. A listing that appears both in the feed and there is the strongest candidate.
Pair the feed with notifications
The feed is for opening every day; for a specific listing or section there are notifications:
- Add the listing to favourites — when the price falls at least 5% below what you saw, a notification arrives (how it works).
- If you have your own threshold, set a target price in the "Check a listing" report via "Notify me when the price drops" — the alert fires once, when the price falls below that threshold.
- When a section you often browse while signed in gathers at least three notable drops (above 8%) within 24 hours, a "Deals of the day" digest arrives — no more than once every two days. The link in the digest opens the feed with that section and the "Last 24 hours" window already selected.
